  The National Football League (NFL), TEAM Coalition, the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the HERO Campaign are proud to be working together to remind all Super Bowl fans that REAL Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk.

And we couldn't think of a bigger, more important event around which to promote the responsibility message...

Over 170,000 NFL fans pledged to be designated drivers this season - a new record! To see which NFL teams had the most fans pledge to be designated drivers, check out the Designated-Driver Program Standings. If you were one of those responsible fans, thank you for staying sober and making sure your friends and family got home safely from the game.

  Responsibility Has Its Rewards

The Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk message is the cornerstone of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards campaign for designated drivers. Responsibility Has Its Rewards is in its eighth season with the NFL. The campaign encourages NFL fans to always have a designated driver.

The Responsibility Has Its Rewards campaign also includes a sweepstakes for fans who pledge to be designated drivers at NFL stadiums. At the end of the regular season, each NFL team randomly selects one fan as the Designated Driver for the Season. Click here to see the Designated Drivers for the Season for all 32 NFL teams.

The Designated Drivers for the Season for the two teams that compete in Super Bowl are the grand prize winners of the sweepstakes. Those lucky fans will attend Super Bowl XLV in North Texas on February 6, 2011.

Another lucky Designated Driver for the Season will win a trip to the 2011 Pro Bowl in Hawaii. That randomly drawn winner will represent an NFL team not competing in Super Bowl.



Responsibility Videos

Another important part of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards campaign is its responsibility video tour. Over 1,000 fans from 20 NFL teams have filmed responsibility videos. Those videos are used to produce Public Service Announcements that promote the designated-driver programs at NFL stadiums. The PSAs are shown on the video boards in stadium and on local broadcast TV stations in NFL markets.

There are several NFL teams that have created unique and fun opportunities for the designated-driver program in 2010. These teams are setting the standard for teams from all professional sports when it comes to promoting responsibility.
