| 2010 Designated Driver Program |
The 2010 season was a huge success for the New England Patriots in terms of the Designated-Driver program at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots earned the #1 spot in the league with over 20,000 fans pledging to stay sober and ensure a safe ride home for their friends and family.
11 locations offered Patriots fans the opportunity to Be a HERO, Be a Designated Driver at Gillette Stadium.
Fans who pledged to be designated drivers received a complimentary soft drink, a "Be a HERO" key ring, a 10% discount at the Patriots on-line Pro Shop and a chance to be selected as the Designated Driver for the Game. Each week, the Designated Driver for the Game and 3 guests were awarded with a pregame visit to the field at the next home game. The Patriots Designated Driver for the Season - Ted Reading - was recognized as the Honorary Team Captain and joined the Patriots captains for the coin toss on the 50-yard-line to start the final home game of the season on January 2, 2010. At the last home game of the 2010 regular season, the Patriots were recognized as the the Top NFL team for designated drivers. Representatives from the HERO Campaign, Massachusetts State Police and TEAM Coalition awarded the Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, with this well-deserved honor. At Gillette Stadium this season, there is no doubt that Responsibility Has Its Rewards. |
