Be a HERO. Be a Designated Driver.
Regular Season Game 4 October 18, 2009

The New England Patriots were back to their winning ways last weekend with a dominating 59-0 victory over the Tennessee Titans! An unexpected blizzard hit Gillette Stadium and a blanket of snow covered the field far before the game even began. Though the conditions made it a bit more difficult to recruit fans to become designated drivers, the weather proved to be now hassle for the Patriots who have extended their streak to 11-0 when playing home games in snow.

The rain and snow may have made for unfavorable conditions for our fans, however, we were still able to find 923 Patriots fans to make the pledge to be Designated Drivers! We would also like to congratulate our Designated Driver of the Game - Hap Garritt!

As Designated Driver of the Game, Hap won a pregame field visit to watch the teams get ready and warm up prior to kickoff! When asked about the Designated Driver Program, Hap told us, "This program of increased awareness and sensitivity is critically important at NFL events...every group of fans attending the game together should have a designated driver, remember to buckle up and drive safely."

Remember to sign up to be a HERO at any of our designated-driver locations:

  • Each of the stadium gates
  • Guest Service Booths at the 50 yard lines on the 100 and 300 level concourses
  • Each Concierge Booth in the Fidelity Investments Clubhouse

At the end of the season, one fan, the Patriots Designated Driver for the Season, will be the Honorary Team Captain and join the Patriots captains for the coin toss on the 50-yard-line to start the final home game of the season on December 27, 2009. The Patriots Designated Driver for the Season will also receive an autographed Patriots helmet and have a chance to follow the Patriots to Super Bowl XLIV at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida on February 7, 2010. At Gillette Stadium this season, there is no doubt that Responsibility Has Its Rewards.
