The Giants vs. Redskins Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge is a competition between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins to encourage football fans to use or be the designated driver.

Rival teams show their commitment to responsibility by inviting their fans to pledge to be designated drivers for the eight regular season home games of the 2011 season. The team with the most fans making the designated driver pledge at the conclusion of the program will receive a special trophy at a ceremony held in early January.

For every fan who makes the pledge to be a designated driver at the stadium, during regular season home games, that team will score a touchdown and earn six points.

Throughout the 2011 regular season, teams can earn an extra point for each fan who “likes” the Designated Driver Challenge posts on the teams' Facebook pages.

The Giants vs. Redskins Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge Standings will be updated each week of the 2011 season.

To qualify, designated drivers must:

  • Be over the age of 21 and have a valid driver’s license
  • Promise to not drink alcohol at the game
  • Ensure a safe ride home from the game for their friends and family

The Giants and the Redskins offer their fans many locations to sign-up to be the designated driver for their group. Designated-driver booths are open in the stadium parking lots four hours before the game begins. Designated-driver booths remain open until the end of the first quarter. The Challenge will only count in-stadium designated driver sign-ups during regular season home games.

More information about the designated-driver program at each stadium is available on each team's Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge page:
